FOUNDER:
TIM DIXON
Tim Dixon is the founder of Leading Edge Education
and the original author of our economics textbooks. After coming first
in the NSW HSC in 1987, he started the business as something interesting
to do on weekends back in 1992 while at university. Tim has a first class
honours degree in Economics from the University of Sydney, and a Bachelor
of Laws from the University of New South Wales. Tim has run courses and
written textbooks and study guides for Economics students for over two decades.
For several years he was a lawyer at international law firm Baker &
McKenzie. He now works as an economic policy adviser based in Canberra.
Tim's passions include mountain biking, running, travel, history, making
sense of life and long afternoon siestas.
Meet the team
Economics Tutors:
Jack Dwyer
Jack has worked at Leading Edge since 2008 and is the coordinator of the Economics Success Package program. He completed his HSC in 2007 and received a UAI of 100. Jack is currently studying an Economics (Honours) and Law degree at the University of Sydney. He is a regular presenter at Leading Edge workshops and conferences, and has contributed to several editions of HSC and Preliminary Economics textbooks and workbooks. Jack is interested in the history of economic ideas, macroeconomic theory and other topics that make for obscure party conversation.
Diana Hu
Diana is a regular presenter at the Leading Edge Economics holiday workshops and the weekly Success Package and Preliminary classes, and has contributed to the Leading Edge economics textbooks, workbooks, economic updates and Conference papers. Diana is currently studying a combined Bachelors degree in Commerce and Law at the University of Sydney. Unfortunately, her University of Sydney Commerce and Law degree will be of little assistance in achieving her life goal: to be a national racing champion at cow riding (as she finds horses too fast).
