features

The 2012 edition of Australia in the Global Economy includes many features designed to assist students in their study of HSC Economics:

  • review questions included at the end of each natural teaching break to allow students to check their understanding of key concepts and content as they work through the text
  • definitions of key terms in the margin for easy reference
  • the use of a second colour to highlight key features and to make it easier to identify trends in the many graphs, charts and diagrams
  • clear cross-references in the text to relevant and useful websites which can be accessed directly through the Leading Edge Education website.

For advanced students

Australia in the Global Economy supports advanced students by providing, in a separate section at the back of the text, an introduction to the key economic concepts underlying the HSC Economics syllabus:

  • comparative advantage
  • income-expenditure analysis
  • the long-run Philips curve
  • the crowding out effect
  • the quantity theory of money

Plus our existing strengths:

  • a revised Key Economic Skills section which shows students how to apply and practise the key economic skills relevant to the HSC syllabus
  • a comprehensive glossary of all the key terms
  • a practical workbook which supports the main text chapter-by-chapter. Each chapter provides multiple-choice, short answer and extended response questions reflecting the requirements of the HSC exam plus skills revision and independent research questions
